Royal Docks Plans

Construction company Mount Anvil has reached an agreement with London ExCeL to redevelop part of the Royal Docks area owned by ADNEC in East London to construct 1,000 new homes.

The owner of the Royal Docks site, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), has entered in to a joint venture with Mount Anvil to form the ‘Royal Docks West Development partnership’.

The RDWD was recently granted planning permission for an initial 105 apartment development, along with commercial space, with the approval of the London Borough of Newham and the Greater London Authority as a move to regenerate and uplift the area. With this new grant for building more homes Mount Anvil can expand its ambitions for the area and is working up plans for further housing beyond current projects.

Killian Hurley, chief executive at Mount Anvil said: “We are developing a compelling design, which we will continue to evolve in partnership with LIEC, London Borough of Newham and the GLA, and stakeholders in this area.”

Phil Dowson, chief financial officer at ExCeL said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Mount Anvil to deliver this exciting project, given the company’s strong track record for working collaboratively to create design-led schemes.”
